FHS Class of 2024 racks up the honors

Nearly a third of the Fernley High School graduating Class of 2024 earned advanced diplomas as they celebrated their commencement on June 14.

In addition, a third of the class qualified for the Millennium Scholarship, and about 10 percent met the requirements to receive the College and Career Ready distinction.

A total of 244 names were listed on the program for the graduation ceremony, and of those, 80 earned advanced diplomas. A total of 81 graduates are potential qualifiers for the Millennium Scholarship and 25 received the College and Career Ready distinction. Eight were members of the National Honor Society, and there were 16 summa cum laude graduates, four magna cum laude graduates and two cum laude graduates.

In addition, the following is a list of scholarship recipients that were announced at the senior awards ceremony:
